Why Self Motivation is The Heart of Self Improvement & Success

Pain may sometimes be the reason why people change. Getting flunked grades make us realize that we need to study. Debts remind us of our inability to look for a source of income. Being humiliated gives us the ‘push’ to speak up and fight for ourselves to save our face from the next embarrassments.

Many times it’s a bitter experience, or a friend’s tragic story, or watching a great movie, or reading an inspiring book that helps us get up and get just the right amount of motivation we need in order to improve ourselves. I’m hoping this self-motivation crash course does it for you…

With the countless negativity the world brings about, how do we keep motivated?

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”… Eleanor Roosevelt

Do you know what separates highly successful people from the 99% of us who struggle all our lives and fail to live the life of our dreams?

Self motivation!

I know… there are people who were born lucky… and those who had rich parentage, etc.

But those are a very small minority among the millionaires and billionaires of the world…

Motivation is what separates the multitudes of people who know what they have to do to get rich, from those who are actually rich because they take these principles and put them to work.

As I write this Donald Trump is set to be nominated at the Republican Convention in Cleveland Ohio for the 2016 US Presidential race.

Trump is a very motivated man. It is widely known that he sleeps very little, on average, four hours a night if I remember correctly. Just four!

In all areas of our lives motivation is a key ingredient for achieving our goals, be it physical goals, relationship goals, financial goals, emotional goals, or spiritual goals. Motivation is the power that takes you from dreaming about improving your life to actually doing something about it.

Have you paused to wonder? Today there is so much free information online about anything. But let’s take “how to be successful” as an example.

You could find tons of information on websites like Forbes.com, CNN.com, BusinessInsider.com, etc on what you need to do to become successful – from case studies, profiles and life stories of the richest people in the world, time management techniques, inspirational quotes, etc.

People in their millions, myself included, consume this information daily. And so it’s surprising that there aren’t more people today that are living happy fulfilling lives. Why aren’t more of us successful?

The answer is simple. Many of us know what to do but we end up not doing it. Motivation again! What happens is that we fail to understand what stands in the way between where we are and where we want to be…

So, what is standing in your way?

“Success is 20% skills and 80% strategy. You might know how to read, but more importantly, what’s your plan to read?”… Jim Rohn

Don’t believe it? Let’s take schooling. In school, everybody knows how to read but passing exams calls for strategy and self-application – how you prepare for the exams, what you prioritize, and what you read and in what order, etc. Strategy and self-belief separates chess champions from the also-runs.

So, What’s Stopping You from Achieving Your Goals (Becoming More Successful)?

Is it a question of values, aspirations, a lack of confidence in your abilities, or unfavorable circumstances?

Action Step:

I want you to take some time and do a bit of self-examination.

Find out what you really want out of life, what your personal values are. Do you want more time, more money, better health, greater self esteem and confidence, more fulfilling relationships, a different career, to set up a business, or to change the world?

Whatever you dream of achieving in life, be it being free to do what you want whenever you want, or to travel and see the world, or to help disadvantaged people in other parts of the world, or live a life where you have no financial worries, etc, it is very important that you know what you want in life.

Because when you do, possibilities start opening up to you. Energy flows where your focus goes…

If you want to succeed, whatever your goals, this is your first strategy: KNOW WHAT YOU WANT in life! Your subconscious mind really needs to be clear on this – what your true goals are…

“When you work seven days a week, fourteen hours a day, you get lucky”…Armand Hammer

That is just long hand for saying the only shortcut to success he knows in HARD WORK!

Be clear on your goals in life… decide before you continue with this course what you want to achieve…

And remember, failure is no excuse to give up!

“Failure defeats losers, failure inspires winners.”…. Robert T. Kiyosaki, author of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”

If you find your current job or livelihood very stressing, maybe you are in the wrong occupation entirely. You should consider following your passions. It’s never too late. These days you can study online, start a business online, even. There are many more possibilities…
